Abstract

For the paleoecology study of Lower Paleogene deposits based on foraminifera fauna in the NW of Jiroft situated in the Central Iran zone, two Sabzevaran (230m) and Sad (45m) sections were selected. Lithology of these sections mostly contain marl, sandstone and siltstone. Based on the presence of index planktonic foraminifers, the Late Eocene age can be deduced for the studied sections. In this study parameters such as paleo depth, oxygen and nutrient level and EP/IN morphotype ratio were studied. Based on this study neritic paleodepth proposed for these sections. EP/IN morphotype ratio in this part indicate of oligotrophic conditions in the base of sections that turn to eutrophic conditions toward top of Eocene part.
