Abstract

Devonian deposits of the Bahram Formation with a thickness of 458 m in the Bondar section 8 km east of Chatroud city in the structural zone of Central Iran were studied based on conodont fauna. According to 44 species and subspecies have been identified and based on their stratigraphic development, ten conodont biozones can be distinguished, which indicate the middle Givetian to upper Famennian age. The middle Givetian ansatus Zone and also the late Famennian Bispathodus aculeatus aculeatus Zone determine the oldest and newest reported age and determine the widest sequence of Bahram Formation in Kerman region. The first occurrence of Ancyrodella rotundiloba pristina marks the Givetian/Frasnian boundary in Sample B11.
